Evercade imports the Renovation Collection, coming 2022
Evercade teased a fresh announcement yesterday, their first for 2022, and now the details are out. Welcome the “Renovation Collection 1” (cart 23) featuring twelve console games from Telenet (Japan) and Renovation (US) that never got to see the light of day in Europe from the 16-bit era, mostly Mega Drive and PC Engine releases.
Update: The Renovation cart launches on March 31st 2022, with pre-orders going live on December 15th.
Titles are, naturally, all a bit of a mystery to me (as a Brit) and include:
- Arcus Odyssey (action, fantasy)
- Beast Wrestler (fighting, fantasy)
- Dino Land (pinball)
- El Viento (platformer)
- Exile (role playing)
- Final Zone (mech shooter)
- Gaiares (shmup)
- Granada (shmup)
- Sol-Deace (shmup)
- Traysia (role playing)
- Valis: The Fantasm Soldier (platfomer)
- Valis 3 (platformer)
This collection brings something to the Evercade physical cartridge system that the community and users have been asking for. Rare titles, interesting imports, and a wider mix of great Japanese-developed video games. The inclusion of JRPGs and Shoot ‘em ups will be of great interest to Evercade fans and to collectors who wish to get their hands on fully licensed versions of these games.
