Evercade announces first four Arcade carts

The Evercade story started out with plenty of NES and Atari VCS ports of famous arcade games, but the little handheld and the upcoming console version clearly have the power to run 8-bit and 16-bit arcade originals.

The developers at Blaze were hinting that retro arcade games were coming not long after last year's launch, and now it looks like we will see the full potential of the Evercade. The company has just announced its first batch, from the very start of gaming in Pong to some pretty modern looking titles. The first four Arcade carts revealed are...

Wow, there's a lot of them, some 37 titles by my count! And I like the purple to distinguish them from the home versions. These represent the final carts for 2021 from Evercade, but there's still more news to come, with pack-in content for the Vs console.

Check out the video for a closer look with Atari, Data East, Gaelco and Technos represented. Some of them are already on Evercade in home console form, but I consider that practice for the real thing and there's plenty of new games and titles that are totally new to me.

Releasing in November alongside the Vs console, get ready for a retro Christmas.
